Bussmann adds 100A rated version to its innovative CUBEFuse range

Cooper Bussmann’s highly novel and effective CUBEFuse, the world’s first finger-safe industrial power fuse, is now available in a 100A version. This new addition to the range gives CUBEFuse a still greater diversity of applications in industry and for OEMs.

The reasons for choosing CUBEFuse, which represents the first significant low voltage industrial fuse innovation for decades, are many. For example, all components, including fuse, fuse base and wire ports, are IP-20 finger safe and meet the requirements of IEC 60529.

Another reason for using CUBEFuse is that it is tiny – the footprint is the smallest of any power fuse on the market. This is a very important benefit for OEMs as it frees up important space in products and equipment, such as in panels, which can therefore accept more components if required. More available space also makes for easier access.

The current limiting performance of a correctly sized CUBEFuse offers Type 2 (IEC 947 – 4 – 1) coordinated motor starter protection, and also meets Class J time delay electrical performance for UL / CSA applications. In addition, it features the high interrupt rating of 300kA and voltage ratings of 600V (AC) and 300V (DC).

Cooper Bussmann’s CUBEFuse is also very versatile, a characteristic deriving from its dovetail base design. This allows 30, 60 and 100A fuse bases to be ganged together. Moreover, the bases can be simply snapped on to 35mm DIN rail or directly panel-mounted. Fuse reducers can be eliminated. For example, a 30A CUBEFuse can be inserted into 60 and 100A bases. CUBEFuse also boasts an ‘open fuse’ indicator – a very useful benefit as regards easy and safe maintenance.

Today, there is simply no other overcurrent protection device available that provides more protection or simplicity in application than CUBEFuse, now also available in the new 100A form.
