Low voltage power distribution cabling together with data and control wiring networks in both warehousing and production areas throughout Cadbury's chocolate manufacturing centre at Bournville in Birmingham, are supported and protected by Wibe Cable Ladder from leading cable management systems specialists Mita (UK) Ltd.
Wibe Cable Ladder has been specified as a standard preferred product for more than 10 years at Cadbury's Bournville factory, part of the international Cadbury Schweppes group of companies and the world's fourth largest manufacturer of chocolate confectionery.
Wibe Cable Ladder systems are supplied in standard white epoxy-coated finish to conform to the rigorous standards of cleanliness and hygiene enforced throughout Cadbury's factory. The open-type support system can be easily cleaned and visually inspected, preventing the possibility of any hidden build-up of dirt.
The cable support system is currently being installed by electrical contractors Delton Electrical Services in a number of production areas, including Easter egg manufacturing units and chocolate moulding lines, as part of a continuous programme of extension, replacement and refurbishment.

Wibe cable ladder in a galvanised finish is used extensively to support cable-runs in less sensitive areas, such as plant rooms, substations and warehousing units.
Based around a rapid-fit system, Mita's Wibe Cable Ladder uses a unique coupling system comprising just two captive bolts. This system eliminates the need for conventional 'fishplate' joints which typically require up to 64 components including nuts, bolts and washers to couple each length of ladder. The total time to complete each connection is reduced from around 15 minutes to just 30 seconds, including earth continuity providing a dramatic saving in both time and costs, minimising downtime and disruption to production schedules.
