Thorn upgrades its lighting design programme

Thorn Lighting has introduced an upgrade to its user friendly lighting design programme, which takes the hard work out of preparing lighting schemes. The software, called Vision, is available free of charge on CD-Rom and handles both interior and exterior lighting installations.

The most significant new feature of the disk is the updating of luminaire data to ensure that lighting calculations, for areas where display screens are used, are determined in accordance with Society of Light and Lighting’s recently published Addendum to LG3:1996.

Additional features of Vision include improved close mounted uplight and wall-washer calculations and automated luminaire and grid placement. The CD also includes a useful electronic product catalogue.

Hugh King, UK publicity manager, Thorn Lighting, said, ‘User friendliness has been the key driver for the programme with logical steps built in to allow a calculation to be completed quickly.’
